For several years my blog was powered by Drupal. At the time (when I studied and worked in academia) I was an active Drupal developer, so that was a logical choice, and Drupal served me well.

When occupation and family situation changed however, my Drupal interest and involvement slowly decreased to almost nothing and I started to question whether Drupal was still a good solution for me. The whole thing increasingly felt like an cumbersome and annoying burden to keep up to date and alive.

Time to go back to the essence and join the renaissance of static sites. Being a heavy and happy Python user, I chose Pelican as static site generator. At this point it's not completely clear how easy the transformation/migration will be, but just let's see where this brings us.
